Honoring Excellence in Environmental Science and Disaster Risk Research
We are proud to congratulate Dr. Jing Fan of Zhaotong University, China, on being honored with the Best Researcher Award. This distinguished recognition celebrates his exceptional contributions to environmental science, geological disaster research, and disaster risk management.
Dr. Jing Fan is a respected academic, lecturer, and Director of the Teaching and Research Section in the Emergency Technology and Management Program at Zhaotong University. Holding a Ph.D. in Engineering from Nanjing University and having completed postdoctoral research at Kunming University of Science and Technology, he has built an impressive career dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and practical solutions for disaster prevention and environmental sustainability.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Fan serves as a master's supervisor at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and Yunnan Agricultural University. His commitment to education, research, and scientific outreach has earned him several prestigious distinctions, including recognition through Zhaotong City's "Xingzhao Talent Support Program" for youth scholars and selection as one of the city's "Top Ten Science Communication Ambassadors."
Dr. Fan's research focuses on understanding disaster mechanisms and developing effective mitigation strategies within geological and hydrological systems. His work explores rock fracture behavior, structural model evolution, and water-conducting properties in complex geological environments. Through these studies, he contributes valuable insights that support disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and environmental protection.
As an academic leader in geological disaster research for the Zhaotong Fire and Rescue Division, Dr. Fan has played an important role in bridging scientific research with real-world disaster management practices. His expertise supports efforts to improve public safety and strengthen resilience against natural hazards.
Currently, Dr. Fan leads several influential research projects funded by provincial programs in Yunnan Province. These include investigations into structural plane connectivity in landslide-prone rock masses and studies on multi-factor disaster mechanisms within the Jinsha River Basin. His innovative research continues to advance understanding of geological hazards and supports the development of evidence-based mitigation strategies.
The Best Researcher Award recognizes individuals whose scientific achievements, leadership, and dedication have significantly impacted their field. Dr. Jing Fan's accomplishments exemplify these qualities and demonstrate his unwavering commitment to research excellence and societal benefit.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Dr. Jing Fan on this remarkable achievement. His contributions to environmental science and disaster risk research continue to inspire researchers, students, and professionals worldwide.
